You can learn a lot from a beach. A walk on a southern Thai island brings on some soul searching so let me share: Life lessons learned on the beach in Koh Samui
Little did I know that when I came to Thailand I would find deep and wondrous wisdom on the beach. And now, dear readers, I will impart these life lessons to you:
1) It’s never too late to change direction (if a tree can do it, so can you).
2) And if you should think you’re on the road to nowhere …
… like these stones.
And your path seems rocky:
Don’t worry. There is a way over every obstacle:
And take solace because you are not alone. Wherever you go and whatever you’re experiencing …
know that you’re not alone. Someone has been there before you.
3) And don’t be afraid to reach out to others, because no man is an island …
although some rocks are. And here you have it, the life lessons learned on the beach in Koh Samui, Thailand. Happy travels, everyone!
A bit about Koh Samui
Koh Samui is one of the top destinations in Thailand. An island located off the southeast coast, it’s ideal if you need a break from life, want to do some soul searching of your own or are seeking a wellness type of retreat. It’s also excellent if you just want to sit and drink papaya shakes in a beachside restaurant all day.
Life lessons learned on the beach in Koh Samui, but which beach?
These photos are taken from a walk on Lamai Beach, which is the second largest resort area on the island and where I usually stay. For higher end stays you might want to check out places such as Kamalaya Wellness Retreat, the Four Seasons Koh Samui or the Six Senses Samui. If you want the most island action possible, you’ll want to check out Chaweng Beach where the beach is fine, the beach bars even better and the nightclubs rock all night.
