I never thought I’d be playing dress up in public, but it’s Design Show fun in Montreal right now, and one of the exhibits is an interactive designer fashion photo shoot, where you put on the black and white fashions of Melissa Nepton and Martin Lim. Then your photos are posted on Facebook and if you get the most Likes you win the outfit.
Guess what? I’m not going to win! My photos were more anti-model than haute couture, and I’m sorry designers, if I didn’t do your flow-y lovely clothes justice, but I have to say, it’s still liberating to do your best Gisele impression in front of a bunch of bemused passersby. It was so liberating, in fact, that the entire Design Show became a photo shoot for me and my sisters, Rebecca and Catherine. Because good design can inspire you in surprising ways.
Good design makes life fun – and we all need some fun in our lives
So here is our own fashion shoot, set amidst the hip-worthy exhibits of SIDIM, the Montreal Design Show at Place Bonaventure.
It wasn’t all posing, of course. We took a break to enter a contest to win a handbag.
We got decorating ideas:
We looked at penguins at Haiti:
We checked out some serious Montreal fashionistas …
We hiked through a magic forest:
Catherine got a little sleepy:
Carol tried to get arty:
Rebecca went to Paris …
Hey, wait … we all want to go to Paris …
And we know we love Montreal.
SIDIM, the Design Show in Montreal happens in May. Don’t forget your camera.
What the heck are we doing in Montreal?
We’re here for a tribute exhibition of my father, William Perehudoff in Montreal
