Geomancing the stone at Grail Springs Spa

The latest spa buzz is geomancy. For centuries people have been looking to the earth’s energy points as a way of  tapping into the power of the natural world. And now spas are getting into the action.

First of all, what is geomancy?

According to Grail Springs Spa, a wellness retreat just outside Bancroft, Ontario, Canada, which has just launched Canada’s first Geomantic Spa Facility, “Geomancy is the study of Earth energies and features prominently in the architecture of ancient Britain, Greece and the Roman Empire – from the oracle at Delphi to Machu Picchu to Stonehenge – where great planners designed buildings to invoke and cultivate the Earth’s subtle, yet vital, force fields.”

Alan Reed, the geomancer that Grail Springs has teamed up with to ‘fine tune’ their 100-acre property, says that “working with nature’s harmonics we’ll simply be augmenting Grail Spring’s special energy by creating unique spaces for guests to tune into earth’s nourishing energies.”

How so?

This is being done through various geomantic practices such as the specific placement of stones such as quartz, basalt and moonstones on property, bringing in a 600 pound ‘Elphin Crystal’ and using magnetically-grounding minerals.

Grail Springs – a place of energy

Set in the primal beauty of the Canadian Shield, 2.5 hours north of Toronto, on a bed of ancient rock, “Grail Springs is a magical piece of land,” Reed believes. Madeleine Marentette, Founder of Grail Springs would agree, saying “guests are already remarking on the powerful new energy they are experiencing.”
