Kissing Babies: My ‘Best Luxury Travel Blogger’ campaign

So. You may have noticed from the icons and links plastered around this site that I’ve been nominated for USA Today’s 10 Best Luxury Travel Bloggers Readers’ Choice Awards.

Update, contest is over! Results here soon.

Oh, you haven’t? Let me enlighten you: I’ve been nominated for USA Today’s 10 Best Luxury Travel Bloggers Readers’ Choice Awards. And now it’s down to crunch time. Voting ends Monday, Sept 22. So this is my Kissing Babies Best Luxury Travel Blogger campaign, also known as Wandering Carol finally writes a short blog post, in order to get you to vote. Every day. Because you can do that, vote once a day. It takes two seconds. Literally. (Okay, maybe three.)

Best Luxury Travel Blogger

My campaign slogan

My Kissing Babies Best Luxury Travel Blogger Slogan

My campaign slogan is Vote Luxury! It’s perfect in its simplicity. And it means absolutely nothing so it’s incredibly politically astute.

A Vote for Wandering Carol is a Vote for Happiness!

Say, what? Oh, don’t over think it. Just be happy.

Best Luxury Travel Blogger Awards

Truth time: I’m the underdog

Astonishingly, I’ve stayed in the top five for most of this month-long Best Luxury Travel Blogger Awards event. And, after 10.5 months of being married, I’ve realized it’s a total bonus being married because you have two families who have to vote for you.

Update: I’ve just been informed I’ve fallen out of the top 5. Obviously, I need an additional husband. But mostly I’m just beyond happy to have been nominated, because it’s a stellar panel of judges who chose the nominees, and the nomination is the real reward. (But still vote for me.)

Travel means endless possibilities

My Best Luxury Travel Blogger Competitors

One of the perks about being nominated is the community of top bloggers I’ve been thrown together with. I feel very close to all of these luxury travel bloggers (except maybe one, can I say that?) because I have been feverishly haunting casually glancing at their blogs since the competition began. Some have huge, slick and gorgeous sites with plenty of writers, others are one-man-bands like mine.

Here’s the link to USA Today’s Best Luxury Blogger Competition main page, so you can check out the judges and nominees for yourself. Nice, right?

And so, other nominated luxury travel bloggers, here’s what I have to say. Your blogs are amazing and you are now my new best friends, even if you don’t know it.

So why vote for me?

  • Because I try very hard
  • Because no one will ever hire me for a day job
  • Because I learned how to add text to photos just for this post
  • Because I might not take myself seriously, but I take this blog seriously, and I take travel more seriously than anything at all. (It was actually a former editor of mine who pointed this out, which was helpful because otherwise I wouldn’t have known I was so dedicated.)

A vote for Wandering Carol is a vote for Adventure! Again, let’s not over think. Let’s just look at the pictures, shall we? Because this last photo says it all.

And if you were a baby, I’d kiss you.
